At the time of its conception, the silky beardog was afghan hound x wild canine with monster/beast front legs. There were no other specificities. "Bear" was added to the species name for simplicity. It was often mistakenly drawn by others with flop ears like a dog, when in actuality it has small, ferret-like ears covered in thick fur, which blends seamlessly with the mane.
