Jason is a monster who dropped out of university (mostly since he was sick of the grief handed to him by everyone because of his "plain" appearance compared to the other frightening monsters) and is basically a bum and a failure in everyone's eyes.

He smokes, drinks, has 3 jobs, and lives alone in an apartment now.
In his spare time, he sits in the park and zones out. Contemplating deep thoughts about life and the universe.
