WEEEEE HAHAA hard parts done.
I Still need to make the "finny bits" but hands like these are hard to do in sculpey, and that head's design I simply didn't have the patience for up untill today.
These are the "parts" and master sculptures of a baby sirenidae project. I also need to make a dolphoria, a chimenticore and paws and parts for them. But For now this is a huge victory, because I've wanted to make a sirenidae plush since I first started making the chirrs.
I AM NOT A GOOD SCULPTOR. It took me all day just to make these three parts. It was a lot of ripping the clay off and remolding or crushing the parts and trying again. I wish I could sculpt as flawlessly in real media as I do in zbrush but alas...
Super super happy with this cutieface.
Next up TEST PATTERNS (or making more parts.. stay tuned!)

Yeah, so you'd have to design them with an eye towards a loss of a few MM from sanding and sand them very carefully, which could be more tedious than clay sculpting?
I honestly don't know, not done anything with 3D-printing as of yet, so I'll let you be the judge of that. Resin printers are the ones that use lasers on a tank of resin and have really fine tolerances, yeah? I can see those being quite expensive! Still want one though. XD
So, these are patterns for making a mold to do resin casts like the chirrs, right?
