thats right,, when the europeons arrived to australia, they knew they had been there so long that they classified them under the native act :S they where classed as apart of the native flaura and fauna of the land

true that, I also believe the sense of community has diminished in society because the tribe has now been replaced by cities etc people arnt ment to live in such big communities, well thats my belief anyways

Large societies are an inevitable outcome of social growth and development since humans are social animals, and date back to the dawn of history.

In a modern society, tribalism is still present, sort of, but it's been perverted. Typical of all societies throughout history, we've jettisoned the good aspects of tribal lifestyle (sense of community, togetherness, etc.) but kept the negative aspects (an inherent distrust of outsiders).

This is a perversion of tribal mindset because it goes against human nature to socialize, and also because it needlessly promotes wariness of enemies that don't really exist, or don't need to anyway.
