Back in the 1990s, when I began to learn how to communicate over the Internet (via E-mail and 'chat rooms'), and eventually got to visit websites all over Cyberspace, among the sites were a variety of webcomics (too numerous to mention). One of the first ones I'd discovered was "Kevin & Kell" by multi-talented cartoonist/writer Bill Holbrook...
For those of you are are unfamiliar with this anthropomorphic comic strip, it's the story about a male rabbit and a female wolf who met each other over a 'chat room' (unaware of their respective prey/predator status). To complicate matters, the title characters each had an offspring from a previous marriage: 'Kevin' has 'Lindesfarne' (an adopted porcupine-hedgehog daughter), and 'Kell' has 'Rudy' (a wolf-fox hybrid son).
Somehow, their chemistry clicked, they got married, and shortly there after, they had a biological daughter of their own: 'Coney', a rabbit with carnivorous tendencies... and that was just during the first year of the webcomic (1995)!
Since then, there have been other interspecies relationships in "Kevin & Kell", as well as supernatural crossovers into the human world, 'skeletons in the closet' (that keep emerging every few months), and (of course) all sorts of humor revolving around 'state-of-the-art' technology (computers, iPods, tablets, and other gizmos).
Since September 3, 2016 marked the 21st anniversary of "Kevin & Kell", I'd decided to pay homage to the webcomic in a very unique way. 'Kevin' has a pair of rabbit ears - one of which is bent over - so it resembles the number 'twenty-one'. So, I'd rendered him in just the right way for that number to symbolize said anniversary (with added text from my Paint.net program). I'd even sent this sketch of him to Mr. Holbrook himself (who I'd met at several 'furry conventions' in the past)...
If you still don't know a thing about 'the longest-running daily webcomic in the world', why not visit the site and check out the current strips (or, if you have nothing planned for the next few weeks, why not go back to the very first strip and proceed from there)! Just go to www.kevinandkell.com
