my thought for the wall treatment, is do be comforting for a crew, that spends much of their life away from their home worlds, without being overwhelming.
green is supposed to be a calming color, to which i'm partial anyway. a pattern in blue is supposed to stimulate the mind, and that would have been good too, but where people need to be able to think calmly in a situation where they might have to think quickly, i see as favoring green, but not the starkness of a completely solid color. while not wanting her to disappear entirely, you can see in the navigators posture he is aware of her presence, while the pilot is for the moment somewhat pre-occupied with the duties of his post. this not being her ship, she is mostly a visitor there, and expressing a kind of cautious curiosity. so blending into the background to some degree, seems to me more natural, then for her presence to be overly obvious.
other people would do these things differently perhaps, but this is how i see what would make sense and be believable.
