"What an unusual nice autumn night. A typical day in Goldenrod feels like twenty hours of night and constant cloud cover. The remaining four hours of daylight consist of two hours of rain, one hour of thunderstorm and one hour of sunset, but tonight it’s clear and surprisingly mild for this season. One might even enjoy a nocturnal stroll through the park. At daytime trainers and pokemon come to this place in the northern outskirts of urban Goldenrod City for fun, catching bug pokemon and participate in competitive pokemon battles, but at night every kind bad example of humanity and pokemon comes out of the woodwork, enjoying the park too, one may say, just differently. Drug dealers and junkies, thieves and fences, everyone bargains in the moonlight market that is Goldenrod National Park after sunset and every single one of them bends to the power of the old bird Don Pidgeotto. Everyone, but me. I’ll defy that feathered highbinder until the city is a place a kitten can safely walk alone after sunset or what’s more likely, I bite the dust in this maze of overbearing black skyscrapers and sinister underground stations that is Goldenrod City first. And I would die smiling if the last thing I hear won’t be the constant wail of Goldenrod City’s police sirens, but the rain on the streets, washing away all that is filthy… and my blood flowing on the street. The humid air surly would ease breathing, as if she would tenderly caress my last moments, my beloved Goldenrod. I would miss Goldenrod’s rainy nights."
