This weapon belongs to Svartsinn Mulm, the son of the Dark Mother, Desiderii Mulm, who is the leader of the Order of the Black Sun, in Kammarheit, Sephiroth. This weapon is a newer and remastered super-power weapon of his previous rifle, the 'Spirit Catcher' (Dreyse Needle Rifle).

The Black Needle uses similar ammunition as the Spirit catcher, just with a different caliber, and the weapon is manufactured to penetrate thick body armor and to kill the enemy without them noticing he/she had already been hit. The Black Needle gets its name from using ammunition so swift and deadly, that if shot, you'd be dead before you hit the floor, and your soul absorbed within the rifle of the carrier.
