Noticing how the heads I've been making kinda sink inwards a little and the ears flop back when they're not being worn, they look kinda sad and disappointed about it. Working through a succession of heads lately I've been aiming for a simple, lightweight design for the foam base, only as much padding as needed for the shape, keeps it more comfortable and cool to wear, compared to my own first attempt.

the ears stay up nicely while it's worn, I thought adding extra support would just add to the weight and hold more heat in.
I've trimmed the fur back where it was needed, around the eyes and where it was covering other details, I'm considering trimming it a little shorter all over, but it's not something I've done before, not sure on the right technique, or if I trust myself to do it right without making a mess.

Use youtube tutorials. The best bet is to use animal clippers to keep even lines. You can start with regular shears and then use clippers to get closer. Taking the fur down more around the muzzle, eyes, and cheeks make for a better looking head in most cases. Don't be afraid to try some things out.
