The father didn't make it visually into the book. They both feature in the
text certainly, but not as far as getting his own illustration.
After plotting and pacing out the text with the pictures. I didn't have room
for it. And that's okay. I wasn't making a comic, I didn't have to support
every written phrase with an image. As it is, the only human characters
you see are the girl, her mother, and her grandmother. So visually it's
a maiden/mother/crone journey thing, to show the father would just be
distracting from that which is much more potent on its own.
