fuckin around with gouache.
kinda based on looking out over eagle rock & beyond whilst driving to pasadena.

i'm very tired of this sketchbook size, so i got a 8 1/2" x 11".
i'll just use this book againg next time i hit up figure drawing workshop.

That blue is super electric against the buff tone of the paper, dude. Go gouache for being that bit more opaque than watercolors -- you get all the same flowy goodness, but you can pull off crazy color contrasts in situations like these ^_^

Blue and brown are SO win. My favorite combo. This pops so much, I have to assume it's plugged in. Do indeed do more. It's exciting and more.

The floating skull plinth and the languid flag remind me of a Zdzislaw Beksinski painting, but way more upbeat. :D

The colors totally remind me of Death valley in many ways. If I ever have a good amount of time and a good amount of distance, I'd love to do a detailed drawing of a radio tower.

There's a wonderful, curious stillness in your works that leaves the viewer pondering and uneasy. I like this. You make plain sketching pure art with so few colours.
