It's putting a car in reverse more times than you can count, and though you see some extraordinary things it is indeed 'tiring', in more ways than one.
The sun was setting and a flock of geese was flying out from a nearby lake, so I had to slam on my brakes. Then there was this deer looking to cross the road, and then school let out and folks started coming home from work and-
I'll never look at UPS or Fed-Ex the same way, suffice to say. The human world is always in motion, enslaved to the clock, and a leviathan lurks beneath the placid waters of a lake of ignorance.

It's an explanation of certain perceptions that exist within the lion's share of humanity's evolutionary experience, not a rule (if there ever was one that couldn't be broken), it's true. Strange that we're on the subject, since I dreamt earlier this morning of places with no direction.
Physicists say some molecule provides center and thus direction, mass and thus distance (space), and by implied extension an illusory cascade of experiences called 'time' exists as well, along with the energy that creates the skeletal crossfire necessary to create reality as it is known by science in general.

I have always found the concept of time, or rather how we perceive time, to be rather interesting. There is no real reason for us to measure it like we do and yet we treat it as if it were more sacred than any saint or god.
While you're right about time in the scientific regard, I was referring more to the human perception of time. Though so long as we're on the subject, there has been lots of speculation about certain particles traveling at such a velocity that the actual move backwards in time

Yeah, velocity is energy expended, space crossed, and of course is time forwards or even backwards depending upon...
I may sound like I know what I'm talking about. I don't. I have a ghost of a grasp, guided by weird instincts which are probably wrong.
You have to remember I'm an alcoholic wreck. The remnants of my former self sometimes surface and masquerade, but that's all it really is. A lightning flash of insight in the hurricane here and there is nothing to write home about.

It seems as though we were both just grasping at straws, I was honestly just half repeating what my science teacher told me that day, at least when it came to the scientific side of things.
I realize you're never truly all there whenever we talk, but I don't think you give yourself enough credit. For while it may not be you when you're sober but it's still you, in fact it may be more you than you realize. When one's mind is clouded is the only time we ever se their true colors, and you my friend are a truly beautiful and complex shade of blue. Forever doomed to bring yourself down, never noticing the joy and happiness you bring others, but behind this blue exterior I feel there is so much more, if only I got to see it at least once

Sounds like you discovered quite a bit about our human world. Always in motion and never resting or giving time to the things that need it most. And while time is often seen as our greatest adversary we must also understand that time can be our best friend. We can choose to be angry at it for taking so much from us so soon, or we can be glad that it allowed us to make so many happy memories along the way.
