Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you... Fireball.

We had a mother cat living outside our home. She can be found here with an earlier photo called Momma cat. She is the mother of Cleo Catra, who appears in the pic Le Cat.

This is Fireball, she is Cleo's sister. Sometime ago Momma and two of the three kittens vanished. We think she was adopted by some well meaning person. Somehow Fireball got left behind. We think it was one of two things. Fireball got her name because when we stepped outside the door she took of like a shot. So if someone dropped by to pick up the other cats Fireball would have run off and been left behind.

The second possibility is that Momma just moved the other two kittens and left Fireball behind. See Fireball was born with a hernia, it was a sizable one too. So maybe Momma decided the defect disqualified Fireball from moving along with the rest of the family.

Fireball had never been alone before. it was always mom and her two sisters from day 1. While on her own she would wail mournfully at us as if asking why she was so alone.

Well we decided to bring her into the house. I sat outside and read a book and let her come to me slowly over a few days. The Cone of Shame is to keep her stitches unchewed. We had the hernia repaired and she was fixed at the same time.
