duckula & goosewing put aside their differences & get together, but goosewing always keeps a stake hidden beneath his pillow "just in case." he thinks duckula doesnt know it exists, or that he takes it out every night contemplating his choices and mulling over how easy it would be to kill duckula in his sleep, but duckula knows, & he also knows that no matter how good things might be, goosewing will never completely trust him & theres nothing he can do about it
