Poor Redictor... when Legion launched, she got a vietnam-like flashback to what happened during the previous launch. Where she just wanted to get in on the action asap, but was hit in the face with many login queues of several hours on a daily basis.
With how much of a success the Legion expansion's been so far, it's important to remember just what happened last time! Warlords' launch was one of the biggest disasters in Blizzard's history, and although EA's Simcity launch was way worse in terms of being able to log in at all, this one was still a catastrophe. 7+ hours of login queue, daily breaking of the garrison personal phasing, mobs being invisible even during the quests to get your garrison... it was a mess! Blizzard launches had always been like that, legion is really the first time we've had a smooth transition.
Likely due to the lower player pop from warlords lack of content for nearly a year and a half, and the general poor reception most people had for it.

Imo, I like that we have fewer players, it gives a more cozy atmosphere and less really bad and mean players like there were in wrath. Sure, the game had the most players in wrath, but HOLY SHIT were there a lot of MEAN players and absolutley awful mindsets that they had created! It's like the argument wether the world would be better off without humans or not, when the answer is that the world would be better off without STUPID humans.
But yes, this has indeed been the best launch ever. Only once have I been hit with a login queue and that was after a server crash on day 4 which was fixed after half an hour.

Haha, you think launches were a disaster? WoD was a wreck, yes, but the first few months of the game had some moments where delays and waits took hours...though to be fair, Blizzard had far less experience handling MMO servers and it accelerated in popularity far faster than they could predict. But WoD there was little excuse for it's horrible launch
I'm pretty aware of the initial game launch. They expected the game to peak at a number after a year, but that happened after 4 weeks and they had to periodically stop selling the game to make it stay alive.
This was still however their worst expansion launch, and was in general a very meh expansion... that said, I HIGHLY doubt that the game had this long login queue at any point during vanilla!
