Object-321 AKV "Ruga" was developed, as the designation implies, in C321 by the M6 Design Bureau on Csye.
The "Ruga" is 25 meters in length, 18 in height and 15 in width, and is powered by the specially developed AKV321-O-IEC1 Engine complex, which allows for the mounting of a variety of drives.
Intended as a non-retrievable kinetic kill vehicle, it´s makeup and systems have been kept as simple as possible. The initial AKV321-1 variant was not even equipped with an active guidance system and solemnly relied on tracking information from its launching ship to be guided into the target. This was done to keep the amount of vulnerable electronics to a minimum.
The newest variants, corresponding to the AKV321-UI version, carry both active and passive guidance systems, and are also equipped with better maneuvering thrusters for high-g terminal course changes into a maneuvering target.
The structure is made of light alloys, and the hull is made of kevlar covered polyethylene, while only the shell of the engine is made of more rugged materials to prevent the structure from taking stress or heat damage. Excess heat generated by the engine is vented trough a high-pressure liquid cooling system, which ejects the heated coolant trough nozzles in the stub-wings, creating a droplet-shield in front of the craft.
While the first "Ruga´s" carried only an onboard 5 ton impactor, the most modern variants carry two 3.5 ton impactors, one of which is launched shortly prior to the actual missle´s impact to increase penetration power and damage. The AKV321-UMT version can also launch its secondary projectile at a completely different target than it is tracking itself.
This is the same craft as in the new painting, the wip of which is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2110205/
