This came from a conversation with Thumbclawz about how many terrific looking animals were out there and furries keep picking the same wolves, foxes, tigers, etc etc as their fursonas and it can make commissions dull. This is a Prevost's Squirrel, and asian species that has a particularly spectacular combination of red, white and black.
Not a great drawing but I haven't had much to post lately, so here it is. If anyone wants this critter for their fursona, take it.

It's always nice to see some creativity and thought when it comes to fursonas. It's really too bad that so many people pick the same 6-7 animals.
Then again, I'm one of the people who picked one of those 6-7 animals, so...
Regardless, it's nice to mix up the commissions now and then, and try something a little different. I might've adopted this little guy if the one I picked didn't have a lot of significance to me and my history. >>;

Oh hell yes, this is awesome. I agree about the same-ol' sentiment, too, which is sad because there are so many neat animals with ready-made wonderful markings/color patterns.
kurst posted a picture of one of these . . . I think about a month or two ago, and I got the urge to draw one, but haven't yet. PREVOST SQUIRRELS = BADASS.

Squirrel feeeets. Hurr hurr. :B I'm always happy to see different kinds of squirrels.
I don't have a fursona and don't plan on really making one, because I'd never be able to decide on what animal I'd want to use, and it really bugs me when people change their fursona/persona every couple of weeks or months. I can just see the animals I'd go through. Meerkat, red squirrel, sea otter, lion headed tamarin, pygmy marmoset, tarsier, ringtail lemur, etc. etc. XD

How about the Black Squirrel? I first saw them on my trip to Vancouver (B.C) when I was getting my entry visa for the States. Handsome little animals, too.

And here's a lovely pic of one beside a red squirrel so you can see the size difference! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2142.....cdc0cfa8e8.jpg
Not certain if those links will work, but hopefully, you'll be able to see them.

I so agree with this! I wish I had more spare time, there's this FREAKING LONG list of animals I want to draw. Kiki (ring-tailed lemur) used to be pretty unique a few years ago, but now you see ringtails all over the place. Even when it comes to foxes and such there's so many awesome species... I'll draw them all someday :D
