Another song comes to mind:
Two moons! One was mantled in air,
But the other, quite bare,
Is what led me to stare.
Two moons! Both had filled me with hope,
But the one on the rooftop
Left me longing for rope.
Wow, wow, wow, wow!
And then suddenly sliding down towards me:
The shapeliest moon, as it were.
I heard wolfishly whispered, "Adore me!"
And then I found
Her moon
Had turned to fur.
Oh-oh-oh!
Two moons, one above, one behind.
Now her moonscape is mine.
Allergies? I don't mind!
Twoooooooooooooooooooooooo moons!
(With apologies to Rogers, Hart, and The Marcels.)

Blue Moon, a 1934 song by Rodgers and Hart, covered by everyone from Louis Armstrong and Billie Holliday to The Supremes and Elvis. But the version I had in mind was a huge international hit by a Pittsburgh doo-wop group, The Marcels, in 1961: the one recording that everyone has heard.
Of course, my lyrics were just a bit different. :)
