...Porsche?
It rained like heck just before I arrived at the car show and the vehicles were all covered with raindrops. I think the rain added a new dimension to my photos from this particular show. The owner of this 1955 Porsche 356 Cabriolet offered to wipe it down for me, but I declined.
According to Wikipedia, the Porsche 356 was the predecessor of the model 911. A total of 76,313 were built between 1948 and 1966. 21,045 of this "type A" were built from 1955-59.
I've made a hobby of photographing cars close up. I love the distorted reflections in the chrome of great old cars. At car shows, I'm the guy sitting on the ground with my camera, getting the right angle on a bumper, grille, or hub cap.

A quick search on classiccars.com shows one listed for $275,000 USD. There are two 1957 models listed for $112,500 and $315,500. This one was in excellent condition.
However, if you don't mind driving a replica, there are plenty to be found in the $25,000 to $35,000 price range.

By all rights, I should have a mid-life crisis sports car parked in my garage by now. But deep inside, i'm just too practical and outside, I'm too large a bear to fit comfortably. I would think that a 911 would suit an arctic Fox like yourself very well.
