THR-SU-(K)71/51, AKA "Iveon", isn't just a machine. Deep within his metal confines resides a "soul", a Flame of Technology. In a world inhabited by machines called Teknos, all Teks have one, including his Drakkid subrace. It gives them a sense of individuality, yet the mechanical side prevents them from ever turning on their own.
Iveon, despite the menacing appearance, isn't even the frontline fighter, only an SU, support unit. Teknos races divide themselves into roles, for example, ancient, massive Teknos like the one in the background practically always serve as CUs, Command Units of ungodly strength and processing power they use to gather data and formulate battle plans. 71/51's is to stay a little behind and catch any fellow Drakkid in need of repairs.
Teknos can take a lot of punishment. Taking out a section will only disable the mechanical side of a Tek. To truly destroy one, one must destroy the Flame, bound to their reactors inside. Even headless, limbless and weaponless, a Tek can lay and watch the surroundings, even passing on that data to other Teks in a network, as long as the comms still work of course. It might sound impossible, but Iveon can bring back Drakkids even from such brink of destruction.
K71/51's internal mechanisms can disassemble materials and store them for later. When needed, Iveon can build various items he needs at the moment. In cases when fixing is faster than replacing, a swarm of nanites can be deployed through microports in the armor. They find the damaged section and replace it with themselves or even use each other for parts material, and return. Should the access be difficult, a mouth mounted plasma cutter/flamethrower tool will easily remove mangled armor. If even THAT doesn't help with, for example, heatproof armor, chainsaw teeth should cut it off.
He's just a small cog in the works that can do much more, but he has more motivations than just serving his race... And more awaiting...
_____
I'll finish this when I can use my tablet again, probably fix and change a few things. The thing he has his left front leg on is supposed to be an old metal plate, but i can't color or shade with a pencil for shit .v.

I'm gonna weave him into Unilia later, but he will get a short story on how he got there and under what circumstances, including a peek at his world.
Possibly he won't be the only one to do do (and so far I've got ideas for mecha spiders and dinosaurs because hell yee boi).
Oh and he does have a character description that I'd put here if I FINALLY GOT AROUND TO MAKING F-LIST TO KEEP TRACK OF MY CHARS AAAAA.
Probably soon seeing how I don't have my pc to distract me.
