A couple of sketches of Gene the Hackman from the 2000AD story, Kingdom. The story is set thousands of years into the future where the earth has been overrun by giant murderous insects known as Them and the human race practically wiped out, although some remained underground in cryogenic sleep. Before 'The Big Sleep', mankind developed literal dog-soldiers to fight against Them while the humans slept, but the war rages on. Gene the Hackman is the main character of the story.

I actually drew these on a big scrap of wallpaper that I had been using to help me with a bit of perspective work. The one on the left is from the Call of the Wild story arc, and was inked with pen. The ink went a bit spidery as I worked, though. The one on the right is from the Promised Land story arc, and is just pencil cleaned up in Photoshop.
