His hairstyle is definitely closer to a rooster-cut than a Mohawk. Albeit a far less flamboyant rooster-cut than the above.

Also, I keep thinking that music like The Who or The Kinks would fit this guy, even though that stuff was ~20 years after his timeslip.
Today I realized that it's probably because his outfit has a proto-punk look to it.
