My boyfriend took this picture the other night. She sure does love the couch. She fell asleep and she looks so cute.

Lilly is a rescue dog I adopted last Monday and she is still getting used to her new surroundings. She is a 2 year old white shepherd who was rescued from the southern states from an abusive life. We believe she was also either a runt of the litter or lived in such poor conditions that she didn't grow much, as she is 45 pounds. She doesn't like being petted, growls and barks at what she thinks are intruders, and is very scared for anyone to walk behind her.

My boyfriend and I are new pet owners and are determined to undo the abuse she has gone through. Every day I feel like I get closer to her, being able to pet her without her flinching or running away all the time, giving her lots of treats and praise. She is perfect on the leash however and even knows the commands "Come on/Go" and "Stop". She doesn't seem to be physically abused, she is in perfect health, but her foster told us that she had previously lived in a constant state of fear. I hope the best for her.
