Of course I do love mice as prey. And the way mind control is used is wonderful here.

Which mouse is more unlucky, I wonder. The one who loses her mind but at least gets to feel happiness and pleasure rather than fear as the sweet beautiful vixen makes a meal of her, the way foxes are supposed to? Or the one who at least gets to keep her senses, but then gets to experience the full horror of sitting helpless as a slimy tentacle opens wide to engulf her?

Of course in the end it makes no difference whatsoever, as eventually they'll both be nothing but peacefully digesting fox food.

That's a good question! I'd imagine that the second mouse is probably feeling a little jealous of her friend right about now.

Of course, I imagine that there's no higher concentration of pheromones than what one would find inside Cerise, so unless the fox is partially immune, she might be joining her friend in happy stupor pretty quickly after being ingested. If she is immune, though, then I would imagine she's in for quite a distressing time.

But like you said, either way, she ends up as nothing but calories for a vixen.

By the way, I also like that very first shot, the vixen gently tickling the mouse's chin, the mouse on her toes, clearly under her spell, blissed out, "practically climbing down [her] throat," while the vixen smiles and licks her chops, salivating over supper.
