his original conception was waaay back in Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, where he was an argonian slave on a dunmer plantation. After he was liberated he took a dark elf name as kind of a 'fuck you!' to the jerks who enslaved him. My BF suggested Drizzt and it just suited him so well.
