The rustling of Ver’s sheets as he turned in his sleep was accompanied by a new sound, a soft little ding. The large cathar grunted. REM sleep was a bitch to get as a bounty hunter. Although the little chirp was sweet and soothing, it was also ill-timed.
More rustling and it chimed again. Ver’s tired eyes opened. He sat up and groaned as he leaned onto his legs.
Light little itches grabbed the cathar’s attention. They originated from a snug, leather band wrapped around his neck. Dulled senses had let it slip by his radar thus far. Ver reached up and stretched the front with a finger. The bell, which hung from the front of the collar, chimed again. In such a sleek, angular room, it came off as a little joy - and honestly not the worst wake up call. That was given to the empire bloke who shoved a pistol in Ver’s maw years ago.
Now that Ver thought about it, there’s no doubt May did this. The little togruta was a mischievous one, but how did he manage…
“Morning, furball.”
Ver glanced up at his door. A slight smile came to his face as he saw May leaning on the door frame. With a sigh he leaned back onto his hands and chuckled, “You little shit.”
“What?” May smirked and pushed off the wall. “You don’t like your gift?”
Ver grinned and shrugged. “Well it matches my fur so...”
The cathar watched the young alien’s lazy stroll as the distance between them closed. His eyes studied the togruta’s body. The lithe form and its subtle curves directed the bounty hunter’s gaze steadily downward, from his modest chest, to soft, flat stomach, and wide, supportive hips. Ver perked a brow when he noted May’s lack of clothing.
“Don’t judge,” May chuckled. “I learned this from you.”
Ver tossed aside the sheets and patted the spot next to him. “Fair enough.”
May redirected his gaze briefly and blushed. He would’ve thought he’d be used to his room mate going commando every night, but the bounty hunter was incredibly frank about flashing him. At least in this case they were even.
The bed creaked as the togruta obliged and leaned against the cathar. Ver immediately took the chance to nudge the the smaller male. The togruta lost his balance briefly and steadied himself against the sheets. His momentum shifted immediately afterwards and he threw a punch at the older male’s shoulder.
In the midst of the padded thud filling the quiet room, Ver let out a soft chuckle. The swing didn’t miss but it felt like it had.
“Turning into a real tough guy, eh?” He asked with a smirk.
May smirked back. “Yep. I blame you.”
When given reason to regret his decisions, Ver instead lifted his arms and shrugged in the face of the monster he’d created. At the very least the togruta hadn’t grown taller or beefier in the meantime. The universe would’ve been in for a world of hurt in that case.
After a moment of comfortable silence, May reached to rub his arm. The motion was stopped just before it happened. The cathar noted the awkward pause and looked his companion up and down.
“So…” May attempted to force a smile at first. That was also halted and he instead looked ahead out the window of Ver’s ship. The space station’s hanger was visible through the curtains. “You like the bell?”
Ver paused. It was hard to gauge how the young togruta would react to both positive and negative reinforcement here. Thankfully the cathar was given a tell in the form of May anxiously touching one of his horns. Ver nodded and smiled. “Of course.”
May turned his eyes to the cathar, his expression puzzled and mildly judgemental. “But it's not a gun.”
“As if these looks couldn’t kill.” Ver snerked. May rolled his eyes. The cathar yawned, stretched, and fell back into the soft, inviting sheets of the bed with an ‘oof’. The bell’s chime sounded off with the movement. “Besides, I have plenty of guns already.”
May scoffed and rubbed the bounty hunter’s thigh. “Never thought I’d hear you say that.”
Ver chuckled. “The universe is a crazy place, babe.” The cathar scratched his stomach and yawned once more. He reached over and gently traced the togruta’s spine. “Speaking of which, how did you get this thing on me?”
May shivered. In spite of his body’s reaction he suddenly got up. Before Ver could protest he was being straddled by the young male, who went on to say, “Why don’t I show you?”
Ver was mildly distracted regarding how and where May sat. He managed to gesture for the young male to continue before he laid his hands on the smooth legs pressed against his hips. With careful, tender hands, May reached down and lifted Ver’s head. The bundled hair in the back wasn’t disturbed or even tugged by the action. While one hand maintained the hold, the other unhooked the collar and slowly removed it from the cathar’s neck. May grinned down at the larger male and removed the bell of the collar. It was laid down on the sheets. The collar was carefully placed on the bounty hunter’s neck and secured with just one hand. May lifted the bell delicately. It didn’t chime once as it was fastened back onto the collar.
Ver smirked. He couldn’t control how his breathing picked up during the intimate little gesture. To think he hadn’t felt any of this last night. “Well done, May.”
“Thanks.” He grinned wickedly. “Maybe I could become an assassin.”
The cathar laughed and sat up. He shared a kiss with the togruta. Their lips connected for a brief moment and smacked softly as they pulled apart. Ver gently nuzzled him. “Maybe. I’d be glad you’re on my side.”
May pushed Ver away by the chest and scoffed. “Who said I would be?”
“Me. I know how to placate you.” Ver said.
“You don’t.”
Ver chuckled. He reached down. His hands guided their bodies gently together. No doubt May had felt his warmth increase against his rump since a moment ago. The blushing togruta tried to ignore it.
“Let me show you,” Ver smirked. “It’ll be my little gift.”
“Some gift. You want it t- a-ah…”
May found himself at a loss for words. Ver really did have a way with his body. In spite of how sore he’d be, the togruta found himself convinced to go along with the spontaneous fit of passion.
