Snowstorm today =( I thought spring was coming! Ah well, this little foxie seems to be enjoying himself. I couldn't resist the thought of a red fox walking through a forest, paw deep in snow and calmly admiring the flakes falling around him. Unfortunately my scanner didn't pick up a lot of the detail in the snow on the ground, but I'll try and upload a better file later.
A little bit of an experiment, both with background and medium. For this I used a base of watercolor and then acrylic on top to make things look more 'solid'. Let me know how it turned out, as I might try it again in the future =3

Hehe, i hear yeh :P Last year we got a big fall in April. So i guess it's kinda similar in it's unpredicabiltiy X3 We hadn't had a good snow in ages, but this last 12 months we've had several major falls. It was awesome the first time, fun the second and third....then the novelty started wearing off XD
I think the acrylic on the forground looks fantastic <3 it makes the 'subject' more bold indeed ^^ And when people say "the scanner didn't pick something up", I found out that if you look at your screen from a side-on angle e.g. 45 degrees, you can actually see the detial you say about ^^ The floor is very pretty lol well done ;)
that is a realy cute fox instant fave
I say the water color works excellent for the atmosphere and the acrilic on top gives great depth to the picture please do expiriment more with this. you always do amazing work.
lol it snowed all day here in winnipeg and the snow was almost gone now we have about another 10 inches or so... heh good old mother nature i love snow.

snow in england is a incredibley rarity (cept for the freak blizzard earlier in the year) and this pic is so very cute, love the contrast between the cold whites with the warm fox fur, and the different use of tools achieved a lovely effect the bg doesnt clash with the foreground. ^___^ it doesnt seem so strong. beautiful work as always hun

Gotta try your picture out on my Zune. Granted the winter season's pretty much over, I think it's the right proportions, and it looks really cute :D

D'awwwwww... :3
I'm glad to have come upon this at AC! I've actually never heard of someone using both watercolor and acrylic paints on the same piece... (I've probably seen it done before, but just not have known about it.) This turned out excellent! This is definitely going to my favorites...

Hey Ravyn, I just recently showed Mother dearest the prints I bought from you at AC. Mom told me to tell you that she was especially impressed with this one, and that you are a very talented artist! I wholeheartedly agree with her; your beautiful artwork radiates your wonderful talents!
