Very good, I must say. This story concentrates very keenly to the present, it doesn't tell much about happenings before the story, the reader gets to know just enough to presume about the reasons why the mouse is in the cave. Although most of the story is about the mouse wandering inside the mountain, there is a certain hint, a hunch, of something much bigger and wider. Perhaps you have a whole storyline set to the same setting and this is just a small slice in it. At least the ending gives that picture, as there are named characters that are barely introduced. Very interesting, as such. Very good little piece, I really felt the panic, the despair and the excitement of the mouse. I enjoyed reading this. Very good work.

I was trying to hint, without deluging the reader with extraneous info, one of the bad habits I have. I'm glad I managed to do just enough to keep things moving along. The inspiration was a newly created character - trying to flesh out her background a little bit. So there is supposed to be more to her story, I just don't know if it'll ever get written out. *chuckles*

Hardly a happy start, but a very well written one. You did a great job of conveying her young age through her actions and thoughts, especially.
