I did this today in under 3 hours? Well I would have to include more time since I dyed the paper yesterday specifically to pull this off.
Micron .01 pen
Sakura white pen
Pitt superfine pen/marker
Berol/Prismacolor pencil for nose color
Strathmore Charcoal paper dyed with red food coloring in water with a drop of yellow
I need to do several pieces of art involving my little princess, the real Gin, since she's been a part of my family for so long, everyone is going to want a picture. So this is just the first of a series.
I cannot take credit for the design idea on this. UndyingSong has been doing this style for a while now, and I couldn't resist but to try it out. I'm pleased with my results.

Oh my god this looks INCREDIBLE !! She is SUCH an adorable kitty!! I love how you used both white and black to render her fur, that's so, so awesome!!
I HAVE to ask though, how do you go about dying your paper? That's a really neat idea. :D Does is crinkle the paper up? If so, how do you flatten it back out again?

She's got lots of white fur now in her ancient age of almost 19, so I had to do it that way. heh.
I put water in a glass baking dish pan thing that is almost the size of the paper (I don't have bigger) I added food coloring drops and left it in there for... hours? It crinkled a little bit and some of the other pieces tore. I then clipped it to a make shift clothes line and let it dry in the sun and overnight.
the other side of the paper is sun bleached already. I mean it is just food coloring. I have another piece that I used pomegranate juice on. LOL. I got totally bored yesterday and just went to the bath tub with paper and stuff that should stain. lol.
Hibbary on DA has a tutorial somewhere on dyeing paper at home. I just kinda did my own thing. I expect the color will fade in time, sadly.
I do have colored paper coming though, because I thought this idea of yours was beyond awesome. must try more. ^_______^
