Sounds like something from Phantom Of The Opera, if POTO was set in a futuristic world and was a little creepier.

Thanks. I suppose using synths of any kind tends to make things sound at least a little futuristic, as peculiar as that is considering how long synthesizers have been used in music production.

I think it might be traced to the 'futuristic' theme popularized when synthesizers were first used. Like Kraftwerks robot themed show, or the famous Rockit music video. I guess the idea of synths as a futuristic thing is rooted into our minds because of that. Just a thought.
