Please excuse the popping sounds. I had to record this while also not waking people up, which meant being very close to a microphone with no wind sock. (this also means I was talking kinda low)
I do hope you can forgive me and my demi-rambling at the end, as well.

It's a little far because I've been working since last august to get music and still only have seventy two minutes worth, and am Aiming for at least a day, if at all possible :3
also. i KNEW I forgot something x3
pretty much, if you're a furry, and you make music, then i would consider it furry music, because, let's face it, music ABOUT furries has and always will be pretty silly.
Also, because of licensing issues (including "we don't have any yet") covers and remixes are a no go, unless somebody Is able to negotiate permission from both the person who owns the rights to the original AND the cover artist, which is considerably more difficult than it would be with just an ASCAP/BMI license..
BUT, on the other hand, I find that asking permission, especially when the majority of the furry population is unlicensed ANYWAY, is easier.
..
ack, sorry. I don't mean to rant like that.

K, let me clear a few legal issues up here. Why would you need permission for something that would fall under 'fair use'? FA itself accepts the upload of covers and remixes under a "Fair Use" legalese:
Music and Audio
Users may post music provided the following criteria are met:
* As a Music Submission - Users may not upload original copyright renditions of audio. Covers and karaoke-style submissions are permitted tracks provided full credit is given to the original performing artists.
As long as credit is given, there shouldn't be any issue unless you're trying to make a profit. If you are, well, then I laugh. But I don't think that's the case. So, you don't need to not include covers and remixes, because that's taking away a sizable chunk of music out of the fandom. There's not really enough original works here to sustain something like a radio stream. Music is among the greatest common denominators in the fandom, taking a backseat to either art or writing.
I mean, my goal isn't to spoil anything for you, but I don't really see this getting off the ground for more than a short flight just due to the complete dearth of music in general. It would be nice, but I don't see it happening. You're going to have to make it more than a one trick pony, at least.

Ah, I was unaware of the Idea of "Fair Use" up until this point-
given the general non-profit-ness, I imagine that the bracket would be fit into nicely.
Hmm.
and as for the "one trick pony" Idea-
it's just starting out that way. We're looking to get the webstream itself up first, with a goal of at least 24 hours worth of music, and when we'll extend into other things-
We have a decent number of people, including
follow offering to do a show of some sort maybe once a week or so, or to DJ live, if possible. (that was actually the ORIGINAL plan, something more or less live, but I realized pretty quick how silly it was to start out with that goal.)

*nod* Yeah, it generally does fall under fair use. Basically all you'd really need to do is announce that it is a cover, and just quote the original composer's name along with the performer.
Well, this makes me happy though, because now I can contribute some piano music, if you're interested. I'm about to purchase a digital keyboard for crystal clear recording, so there will be some remarkable differences from the works in my gallery currently. Once I get stuff recorded and even do some more work on my original pieces, I could contribute a fair chunk if need be.
Would also like to comment that I feel you are looking at this realistically at this point. My somewhat roughness in my previous comment wasn't meant to be rude, but it's just I've seen a lot of attempts at this sort of project, and none really worked. It doesn't mean I don't hope it won't but...yeah. Again, I'm interested, but don't want to get my hopes up too much. :P

This is all good to know x3
Next to Matthew Ebel, you'd be the most helpful random person so far x3
*goes to take a look at your recordings*
ooh.. YES. definitely a spot for them here~ *nodnods*
also- yeah. part of the reason that this is going so slowly is the fact that I have to force myself to work on it sometimes, due to being bushed from school and such x3
and YES, please don't get your hopes up D:
One guy who did sent me like, five of his CDs for free. Need to find a way to repay him, especially since I have no way to guarantee that this'll last long enough to merit such incredible niceness.

I can DJ...
I've been using Virtual DJ for a while now, and can Mix pretty nicely... It can stream directly to Shoutcast - I still havn't quite figured out how to get the Mic working but I can do live mixs ^_^.
If thats to fancy, I can always just do Direct Shoutcasting from a Playlist in Winamp.

I personally have to disagree with Delphinidae--you have a rather pleasant voice in my opinion, perfect for a radio DJ.
So, that being said, how much music do you have at this point (it being September now)? You're quite welcome to use anything that comes up on my user page (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/trinity-dragon/), though I must admit that some of it is quite short--just over a minute in fact. I do techno (not very well), trying classical, and attempting a gospel variety, though I can never seem to escape the baroque. Anyway, its mostly MIDI, dunno if that's a problem for you or not.

we certainly don't have any problem with midi-
as far as timing goes, we've since postponed the release and won't be announcing another prospective date until we have everything we need to really get this going in a more professional manner :3
that said, I will still most certainly give your stuff a listen =3

Whoa you got DJanthro on there! WEWT I wanna listen :D
But I wanted to just say something here (I plan to e-mail ya tomorrow morning when I'm not so tired XD), but I just wanted to let you know I'd be happy to help with a talkshow kind of thing once or twice a week. I participate in podcasts all the time and throughly enjoy doing them, so doing that and furry together? *orgy*. Also, I know some people in marketing and internet advertising, so I may be able to help you out there as well.

You have a very pretty voice, I don't think the announcer needs to be changed to someone else at all. And yes I've gone on shoutcast several times attempting to find more 'Furry' music. I did find a portal in Europe that you can find on the internet look under Furry Music Foundation or http://fmf.fauna-project.org/. I don't know how to contact these artists. All I can say is I like their music as well as many of the musicians I have heard on FA.
Nothing like tootling my own horn but I have created some music at my profile that is up.
I am getting better. ;)
The one I just got up yesterday I think is the best so far.
But the Raving Rave was my first Furry Fandom mix.
You can download any of my stuff that is up on my profile.
And yes I do have my own Net Radio here too.
And have varius stuff in it including my own created stuff.
Emjoy.
