Oh I love it. Only problem is heat....Alpha striking is BAD idea with that set up.


The ER-PPC's make up for it though, long range hitting power, and since they are clan, as much damage as a the Gauss Rifle.

The other Variant i like, I use for quasi suicide runs. the Variant D, 2 ER PPCs, 4 Streak 6 (2 forward, 2 Back). Get in the middle and start blasting ^_^

Vulture/Hagateka (sp) = Inner Sphere name for it

See, thats the probleme. My Battletech reference sheet book says something different, and the wiki says somethiung different too. And then theres my Official guide who says both is right, by first mentioning Mad Dog (Vulture) and then Vulture (Mad Dog). So, even the official book is confused.

It sucks most my Battletech books are gone (former roomate) and as of this morning http://www.classicbattletech.com is down (thats the official site, and was reading it yesterday)

But Vulture (or Hagetaka, which means the same thing) was called vulture by the Inner Sphere, particularly the Draconis Combine.

Mad Dog is the Clan name (and the one i go by, since they made the d*mned thing ). And I am a huge Clan head (CWIE and Ghost Bears, aff).

Most I can give is the battletech Wiki http://sarna.net/wiki/Mad_Dog_(Vulture) Yeah I know, a Wiki, but in things like this, you get legions of Battletech fans, most of them with ready on hand books with all the canon information, and they tend to be pretty accurate when it comes to fictional universes.

Good, okay, then I go by that source. Still, is rather scary if even the official book isn't sure what the right name is.

In a semi-related question, are those terrain hex tiles from the HeroScape series? Or did you get them from somewhere else?

Yup! They're heroscape tiles, just prettied up a bit with some hobby store stuffs. :)

Nice! I need to get me some. I've found another tabletop game called 'Monster Island'. It's a giant-monster-fighting thing. These tiles would be useful in making an island.

I believe the clan name for them is firefly..Not sure. But I like stripping them down and putting nothing but small pulses and high explosive self destruct.

Granted, that's the computer game but hey. Mechs are still ftw.
