I love it. It's nice to see how friendly even the males are when they're not in competition.

They're super docile, especially the older guys. I've found myself surrounded by bachelor herds of Royal and Imperial elk out on the tundra so many times - they're super mellow, and many times I've had them just lay down and nap within a couple dozen feet of me as I'm just sitting on the grass with my camera.

I've always been intrigued at how differently wild animals act when they're given the chance to trust humans. I want like crazy to be able to live in a safe place with them. I've often talked about my home I'd some day have in the woods with the doggy(wildlife)-door for raccoons to come and go from the front room. Obviously, there would be no shinies or food that weren't nailed down :-P
