Her lead wheels are a mere 12" in diameter, her close-set drivers barely 28" across. Her tight wheelbase was designed to accomodate the equally tight curves along the road. Though rusting in spots, she is still sound and functional. The saltwater spray makes keeping rust away a difficult proposition. At the moment, her tall stack is missing its spark arrestor. Mister Patch, the railroad's Head of Maintenance, has been trying to scrounge a replacement from the dead line, to little avail.

Oh, she still runs. Well, the model of #8 does. She's currently the only functional, reasonably finished steam locomotive in my roster. #2, a Krauss 0-4-0 is awaiting repair work, as her wheel flanges are too deep for my rails. #3, an 0-4-0 Saddle Tank is in the works. #15 is a 2-6-4 saddle tank that just lost its trailing truck to a tragic glue accident.
