Even with the air conditioning blowing full blast, the beating sun kept the car hot, and the passengers sticky.

The rolling prairie landscapes blew by, as they raced along the highway watching the world pass, blurring by but the rolling hills never seeming to change. Laughter filled the car as stories were exchanged of whatever neighbor, friend of a friend, or failed sexual escapade crossed their minds.

The muscular dark skinned driver sighed- redirecting conversation. "Guys, keep an eye out for any turn offs, we're running low on gas."

"But Gianna, didn't we pass a stop like 20 minutes ago?" Perks up the freckled red head from the back seat.

"That was over forty minutes ago, and I didn't expect to blow through our tank this fast. Hey, Matt, grab the map could you?"

"Sure sure" Said the slim young man, unbuckling and leaning back to the piles of bags and luggage. "Ohh- only two drinks left now we really need to sto-"

"Yoink!" Yelled the freckled girl as she snatched up the second can.

"Kayla! I was going to give that to Sophie!" Matthew said, plopping back down with the map. As Kayla cracked open the can and chugged.

"Oh, don't worry, it's fine Honey" Sophie said from the front, just gazing out watching the landscape.

"Figure out where we are" Gianna said to Matthew as they drove.

. . . A few minutes passed as Matthew tried to figure out where they were.

But, a sign came up in the distance- "Oh! There's a stop!" Sophie said, leaning out the window pointing ahead. Gianna pulled the car onto the side road- quickly turning from pavement to gravel. "Must be a small town!"

"How Small?" Gianna said, turning the car off road and pulling to a stop. "We can't waste any gas if this won't get us what we need."

"Pleasant Meadows?" Matthew said glancing at the billboard. "I can't find this on the map- and we should have passed another town already-"

Gianna sighed, getting out of the car and grabbing the map. "Give me that- I'll find out where we are"

So they filed out of the Van to stretch their legs and take in the sun light. Their attention turned to the billboard, and up colose they could see that the woman advertising the town had a tremendous rack painted onto her. As did the bearded man have most of his chest exposed. Matthew and Kayla began to joke about that, finishing their drinks as Gianna inspected the map. Sophie wandered off, looking to the small town in the distance.

After a while, Gianna folded up the map frustrated. "I can't find where we are either- we better just stop over there and be safe then go on with almost no gas."

"Sounds like a plan!" Sophie said, sashaying back to the van. So they piled in and continued onto Pleasant Meadows...
