Caitians were probably one of the few species to prefer the classic female uniforms. Tails work better with skits than pants.

I was in High School when the series was on -- I don't know why I never saw it. I fell in love with M'ress reading the novelizations, back in 76. Nobody even knew what 'furry' was back then!

Eric, I seem to recall reading somewhere that Lt. M'Ress was supposed to be a stylized Kzin, only not so violent against humans as the original Kzin were. Do you know if there's any truth to this rumor? (I'm a big fan of Larry Niven and I love his Kzin characters. I loosely based my Mory characters on his Kzinti.)

Never heard anything like that (her species is listed as 'Caitian'), but I may not have enough nerd credentials to know. Regardless, she and the Kzinti. were there, sharing a single series.

I Googled her and found that, according to one of the Wikipedia sites, some say the Caitians were supposed to be descended from Kzinti colonists to the plante Cait. However, as with most things on Wiki that likely isn't canon and I know that Larry Niven never mentioned Caitians in any of his writings that contained Kzinti. As I said in my previous post, I'm a big fan of Larry Niven and I've read a lot, if not most, of his books. But, I haven't read ALL of them so he may have somewhere that I haven't read yet. All that said, as I look at the Caitians, I notice two major differences between them and the Kzinti. First, the Kzinti have hairless, rat-like tails (Human nickname for them is Rat Cats. LOL.) Second, the Caitian ears are more feline and the Kzinti have an entirely different kind of ear.

BTW, I'd like to thank you again for using Amanda in your new comic. I was more than a little shocked to see her so soon in the series. You did a great job on her and I love her in your style. I have many, MANY more OCs I can describe for you if you're ever in need of another one.
