As far as I remember these creature are something like explorers searching new worlds to visit, can survive long periods in space but are quite sensitive to some atmospheric environments so the face mask is a must, being half-insect their eyes can see ultraviolet and infrared, doubling as radar screens as well.
They are mute and communicate with each other via corporal signals, like a bee, and also telepathically. In fact, they are also telekinetic, have hidden stings in each claw and, if strength is needed, their lifting capacity is exactly as that of a bee: in proportion to their weight (roughly 30 kilos) they can lift 50,000 times that amount
