Femukki took an order form us at Anthrocon 2016. Her character is a daring sci-fi space bat who is seen unleashing her energy-axe shredding skills upon a band of hostile cyborg creatures. Femukki came to us with a ref sheet as pictured here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19365866/ but asked for a new suit design and a less "dragony" face. Femukki's old suit had allot of evenly distributed detail, so we sought for a futuristic design that had more areas of rest. Some chevron decals were added to the gloves which are meant to play off the character's fur pattern that the suit occludes.

Some artists in the fandom thought that Femukki's expression in the fight combined with how the alien is getting her head sliced crossed a portrayal line of acceptable violence for a fursona. This caught us by surprise. We actually felt guilty because these details are admittedly all about OUR repressed tension and not the commissioner's. Femukki actually doubled the concern when he purchased a commission of his character as a field medic immediately after he uploaded ours. We got in touch with him about it on telegram soon afterwards and asked if he felt that we made Femukki look too desensitized, but he did nothing but assure us that it was really badass to him. We left our concerns. To this day though, we still feel like her expression comes off subtly happy about what she's doing. Its because the right of her mouth is upturned. Maybe that's where the problem lies to some people. It was an interesting conversation about portrayal though that happened around Femukki's character in respect to the person he is in real life. People assumed that this person wanted to be a transgender because of the fact that his fursona is a girl and that assumption lead to the notion that they may have wanted an image that wasn't as gory as the one we made. We laughed at that one. Why do transgender guys have to be effeminate? They may want to be bad ass, ever heard of a femme-fatale? They don't know. Femukki gave us the game Dead Space as a reference during the thumb-nailing of this project. That made us feel very free to do whatever.

In regards to the setting, we wanted Femukki to be framed by concentric rings that are supposed to be the interior terraces of a space station. The enemies we designed are a combination of Dr. Nefarious from Ratchet, and some goblin paintings that we've seen Dave Rapoza come up with - it informed the rendering job.
