Here is the second of three 'photo-ops' I'd taken (with my 35mm camera) back in October, 2005 - in the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma. I'd decided to post these pix, to coincide with the impending arrival of Hurricane Matthew later today... on this first "Throwback Thursday" of October (10-6-16)...
This next picture from Oriole Gardens in Margate, Florida was taken behind my condo building (right), where a number of trees were uprooted. Of course, 2005 was a big year for hurricanes in south Florida - with three of them (including Katrina and Wilma) striking Broward County alone. So, many of the trees behind my building were knocked down before.
I sort of lost count, but I think before the 2005 'Hurricane Season', the area behind my condo apartment had over twenty palm and ficus trees. As of today, only six such trees in the same area are still standing.
The big question now is, "How many will remain upright, after Hurricane Matthew passes by?"
I'll have one more post-Wilma pic shortly...
