Max went mental; that's what happened. She wanted revenge on the animals, and she thought she could do so by having him destroying their homes. He got the idea that he should do that to everybody, but for his own revenge, not because he wanted to terrorize the town into loving Darla again.
*sees BlueMario's comment* Dang it......I was gonna say something like talk about sad yet ironic, but it looks like someone already beat me to that >.< (DOH!)On a serious note, though, I NEVER thought I'd say this, but......I actually feel pretty bad for Darla now, as well as the animals......
