What I usually use really helps me. Wherever the eye level is supposed to be, I draw a straight line across the paper. Then on both sides I draw a little x. Then I use a ruler and have all the diagonal lines and stuff going back to those vanishing points. It's cool when you start to get it down.

Heh, okay. Here's a tip I learned that helps your coloring look more interesting.
You know how after you color, you see a lot of white spots in your coloring? Sometimes when you use a single color, it makes the picture look flat. Varying your tones helps but also using a second color to go under the main color makes the subject pop out. Like using a lighter orange under the orange of Angel's fur or a yellow. These are just examples though, there are lots of combinations you can use and it can take a while of practice.
You can usually use any color under black depending on what you like. Like for Angel's outfit for instance, using purple or even green. If you don't believe me, try it on shapes for examples.
