Endless Realms bestiary - Phase Beast
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
Good ol' phase beasts. My take on them was to make them a small, interplanar scavenger that feeds off both matter and energy, crossing dimensions at will and feeding on whatever's convenient - I see them following in the wake of greater, more destructive beings, feeding on their leavings or the chaos they sew, or I see them causing havoc with a tinkerer's contraptions or a sorcerer's spell (or just about anything, really), or an infestation of them resulting in local tears in reality, with alien influences bleeding through from other realms... Anyway, that sort of thing! What's his giant claw-thing for? I dunno! Maybe he uses it to siphon off energy - maybe it's a stinger of some sort, to put larger creatures to sleep so it can feed off them. It's up to the rest of the team to decide!

Since I'd play a dancer ,since that's the class I seem to focus on the most, I'd want one of these things as a pet. Letting it sleep around my neck as it absorbs my magic energy, and having a relationship of I'll let it feed off my energy unless I tell it to go after someone. I think I'll call him Nibbler xD
