What timing could be better than to roll out this special present I got from my wife and son. It really made my day!
My wife believes she is not a good artist, but she collaborated with my little guy to put this together. She drew Yoshi and colored him in while my son added all the special touches all around it. Pretty cool, eh?
As this is my 100th submission, I believed it would be nice to share something extra special with all of you and, honestly, I couldn't think of anything more.
BTW, any opinions on the Yoshi drawing would be deeply appreciated. My wife feels she is a terrible artist, but I disagree. If you have any constructive criticism, do let it shine though!
On a final note, I thank you all for allowing me to make it to this milestone. Sure, anyone can just post, post, and post some more to get to 100. However, if I didn't have all of you out there to collaborate with, I never would've posted past my silly, Yoshi drawings I offered up when I first started. It's nice to have a place where I can share my creative thoughts and feelings in such a way. So, again, thank you!

Mrs. Yosh-E-O is being too modest. I had her read the comment spread and she STILL is not in belief that she did a good job with this. Though, me thinks she is only trying to pull my chain over here.

Ehehe, I think I told ya in an e-mail I like to see art from people that might not draw all the time, or don't think it's their "thing"? Well I do! Especially with yoshies. I think a lot of times, they look even neater when they're drawn by someone who doesn't always doodle them, compared to people like me that are always practicing them. (: Their work is much more free and loose compared to how those of us that always draw them have the same look each time.
I think your wife did a great job! I love how cute the face is - the big chubby cheeks and the large eyes, even the precious little smile is adorable. (: And I love how the body is too! I like the rain drop shape she gave him! :D It has a lot more shape than what I think I usually give my yoshies - and the stubby legs are adorable! :3 It makes me want to experiment more with yoshies and play with their shapes, instead of doing the same thing each time. What a neat present. :D

I'm glad you liked it, Ox. I was floored when she presented it to me yesterday. It's so weird how, for as bad as she thinks she did, she gave this wonderful pic to me FRAMED. It's right now hanging in our bedroom. :)
I agree hardcore with seeing how others take various characters and aspects. Along these lines is another present I got from the friend I wrote the Spider Man story for. It was his comic take on HALO. After reading it, I was impressed to see just how genuine and sincere the work was. It just goes to show how, no matter how good you are at something, the heart and soul you put into it is what truly makes it special. Yep, yep, yep!

Hurray! I'm glad you are here to celebrate with me. *Pours a cup full of sparkling, grape juice* To our continued success, good friend!
It took me AGES to learn how to draw a Yoshi. First I had to trace, then I had to pencil and ink, and NOW I can finally do one with a Sharpie on my first try. I'd like to think I do okay, but I do know my art is far from uber good.
Then, you have my wife. She just sits down and, HER WORDS, draws this up in 15 minutes! Someone who keeps saying, "I can't draw, I'm no good." *shrug* Dang, if that's lousy, sign me up! :) <LoL!>

You just want to reach down and snuggle him, don't you? :)
I fell in love with this as soon as she handed it to me last night. Of all the tangible things in the world that make me happy, none make me happier than colorful art. That's why I am glad I discovered you when I did, Tacki. You always do such clever, colorful works.
Oh, I asked my wife if she'd respond to any of the comments. However, she has opted to be modest about it. But, do know she appreciates your thoughts. Even if she is too shy to say so. ;)

Thanks much, Scooter. You are helping me to build my case with my wife in that she is a better artist than she gives herself credit for. She keeps asking me if I, "Really looked at it." It's like she believes its laden with errors. Truthfully, I can't find anything bad about it. Heck, it's better than anything I do. ;)

Many thanks, MJ. Your comment only helps re-enforce to my wife that she is far more talented than she gives herself credit for. She's been REALLY down on herself lately and, based on the response I've gotten from this, I can whole-heartedly tell her that she does have great talents.
Overall, I hope my son takes after her when it comes to the arts. He already does love to draw and can visualize so many cool things in his scribblings. To watch him blossom would make me so happy. :)

I'm glad you like the work, Falcon. I was so, very happy when she presented it to me. Though, nobody was more proud than my son who, to this day, still recalls how everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me and how he was such a big part of making the cake, drawing the picture, and blowing out the candles. :)
As for where it is now, I currently having it hanging on a wall off to my side of the bed. It's good to keep great memories close by. Helps to ensure you always wake up on the right side of the bed. *Smiles and nods happily*
