Normally I work with a large, aliased image and then resize for the aliased effect. But this was the actual working size of this image. I retained a layered copy of the image, in case I ever want to fix something. Aliased images, once flattened, are more difficult to work with.
Minor imperfections aside, I am VERY satisfied with this.

Thanks!
Paint.NET was originally supposed to be a replacement for MS Paint. It doesn't have as many effects or styles as Photoshop or GIMP-- but for my intents and purposes, it works great! Simple, but not limiting. I find it best for jobs too big for MS Paint, but too small for Photoshop.
Would I recommend it? Well, it's free-- so you got nothing but time to lose. Digital imaging isn't a regular practice of mine, so I don't know what makes an image editor "GREAT" other than how comfortable I am with it. I'm not sure what version you last used, but-- from what I understand-- a lot of bugs have been fixed and resource usage reduced in the last 6 months or so.

Yes, but I completely forgot to. I can fix it; I held onto the layered image format since what you see here is the actual working size-- anti-aliased images are more difficult to work with.
You should check it out-- it's as light as ArcSoft [and doesn't occasionally break] with some features of Photoshop. Also, plugins at the website for more effects and such. So far I found a nice plug that makes OptimizedPNGs; More colors than 8-bit, smaller filesize than 24-but.
