NOOO, the house was a rental!!

Loving the shape in the upper-left panel. That's pretty much the perfect "ready to blow" shape, at least in my mind. The way the head is beginning to sink into the ballooning mass, while the body bulges out in all directions, quaking and ready to burst, is just lovely. I really do adore the way you draw over-inflated shapes. Your skill at portraying overblown balloons is second to none.

I really enjoyed this whole sequence. It says something about a relationship when your friend bursting you is such a distinct possibility that you have to prepare in advance for it. XD
