A commission for the ever-lovely MauAbata. I've already expressed my love for his character, whose reference sheet I created for him. For this piece, he asked me what I would do if I were to draw another piece with Mau in it, and then just let me go straight into creating it.
I really wanted to play with a low angle shot on this one, and Mau suggested that the character be in a forest. I'd really like to refine this past a sketch at some point, it was a total pleasure to work on.

It could probably be that way yes, and I think some overlap of some kind would be beneficial to the composition in general so the bowl doesn't pop forward in front of everything else.
The bowl was thicker in my original concept, to offer more insulation but there's also his fur to consider as a buffer, and the whole concept of anthros in general is quite magical anyway x3 I had intended for both the source of the fire and the bowl itself to be kind of up to viewer interpretation and slightly ambiguous. Not the posing of it, though. So thanks for pointing that out. I'll have to consider the most appropriate fix for it.

Oh goodness, thank you!! I would actually love that, what would you be interested in getting in return for one? I love your work so much, I'm glad I just recently found you again! There's a fox mask you made that has just some beautiful striking ice colored eyes and I was JUST ranting and raving about it.
