their world is dark, moist and warm. large forests of mushrooms the size of redwood trees and an atmosphere thick with oxygen. they are nearly hairless with skin ranging from blue to purple. they have partial gills for drawing oxygen and moisture from the air. because of the darkness of their world they are nearly blind, making up for it with advanced senses of perception.
though not pictured they possess 2 fingers and a thumb on each hand and 2 toes on each foot. the appendages possessing pads similar to those of a tree frog, enabling them to climb with relative ease.

i always find the name is the hardest part of coming up with a character, place, or species. so sadly this alien doesn't have a name for her race yet. and i drew her more out of a desire to draw something strange and different.
and thanks for the compliment :) i am always fascinated by armor and the facial markings i thought of as a kind of ranking thing, the more intricate the tattoo the longer she would have served or something like that :)

I like the concept. Gives the mystery race a whole lot more depth beyond just being there or, in some cases, just being a mystery NPC character.
I know how you feel about just being creative at times, too. Lately, I've made a major journey of self-discovery with my written work and, while I reboot, I'm doing some simple tales to get myself started again. It's always amazing what an outside perspective can do to remove the wool from over one's mental perspective.
