
This is a painted version of the JG-1 Gas Mask, done in a style commonly seen on many Anubis statues. The "Paint" is Latex mixed with gold acrylic. This version will be done in limited quantities.

Hee: It Is actually fully functional, working valves and all: I just dont warranty it for use in actual emergency situations... Its functionality is based off the German/Israeli Gas Masks! I've another military fur who brought it to his work at Pendleton: He's had fun with it :)
Owie: Sounds like you used a petroleum-based paint, which will do exactly that to latex.
The way I'm doing it is by mixing raw liquid latex with the color I want: THE PAINT MUST BE AN ACRYLIC BASED COLOR! Such as the stuff available at art supply shops. I then use a syringe to paint the colored latex onto the mask.
