A strange mixture of species elements is the defining characteristic of this breed. Particular expressions of species traits vary widely from individual to individual so that the overall appearance is quite varied and can be quite extravagant in some. Correspondingly they are to be found in a wide variety of habitats and are employed in a variety of ecological niches. They are hardy and adaptable creatures, often able to eke out a living in the harshest and most unwelcoming of environments.

The chief concern of a fledged pandragon is to find a suitable territory of adequate size and resources for which it is appropriately adapted where it can thrive and propagate. This endeavor takes up the majority of an juvenile's time energy, and it either succeeds in establishing a roost in an area which can support it or it dies.

They are quite rare, and growing rarer as time goes on. The likelihood of any given individual of breeding age meeting another pandragon at all, let alone one of breeding age and compatibility, is slim to none. It is a bleak picture.
