Well, time does become a factor for me. The faster I can get an idea out of my head, the more enjoyable it becomes. And yeah, that goes for non-animated stuff as well

As a former flash user myself, its loads easier to use, and there are more tools available. Try out a the free trial version, its what I used for this
you still need adobe flash to make buttons and stuff though
